Carpets in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain :- Carpet Construction Processes
Carpets in the US have historically been made out of wool. Wool was a primary material used for rugs, because it was considered to be durable, easy to work with and good for insulation. Over time, carpets have developed into a more stylish and contemporary design. Today Carpet Dubai are used to not only cover floors, but are also popular as art pieces and designers work with them on a daily basis. Here is an overview of some of the most popular types of today's popular carpet:
A carpet is simply a textile floor covering -
Perhaps the most well known type of carpet in the world is the carpet that you see on your living room floor. A carpet is simply a textile floor covering, typically consisting of an upper layer of fiber attached to a backing cloth. The fiber can be made out of cotton, rayon, nylon, polyester or other synthetic fibers, as these fibers are much cheaper than wool. Most modern Carpets Dubai are made with a combination of different synthetic fibers, which give the carpet a stylish textured look.
Very popular carpet
Another type of carpet that is very popular today is the carpet that has been dyed. Carpet dyeing is a process in which pigment, color and fabric combining are altered in the carpet fibers using chemicals, dyes and heat. After the carpet has been dyed, it is then treated with an acid wash to remove any remaining residue from the dyeing process. A new surface is then created by adding a substance to the face weight of the carpet and staining it with a dye solution, then finishing it off with a finishing agent. Common dyes used in carpet dyeing include blue, green, red, purple, yellow, gray, orange and pink.
Tucking is a carpet construction process
Tucking is a carpet construction process in which a carpet is constructed up from the pile, yarns or cords with no loose yarns within the pile. When the pile of the carpet is arranged properly, it will make it appear tight and neat. There are two types of tuck: primary and secondary tufting. In primary tucking, the bottom edge of the Carpets in Dubai is first blocked and turned slightly inward. This is done so that when the carpet is constructed, the tack strips will be able to stick into the pile. The strip is then pulled and the carpet, now tucked, will have an even, tight appearance.
Secondary tucking involves stripping off the outermost layer of carpet backing, called the primary backing, then folding the carpet over, cutting it diagonally, forming a sort of "pocket" at the base of the newly formed "pocket," and stapling it to the primary backing. Polypropylene is often used in primary backing because it is the most durable, water resistant, and stain resistant backing available. This material is also good for Carpet in Dubai construction since it is available in rolls similar to carpet type samples. The advantage of using polypropylene is that it can be purchased in rolls of one thousand feet or less.
Loop pile carpet backing
The third type of carpet backing is called loop pile carpet backing and is produced by applying continuous loop pile tape to a thick cotton backing. In this process, the carpet is first run through a sander and then the loop pile fabric is placed over the rug, pushed back firmly against the carpet, and the fabric is pulled and pushed again by the sander. The thickness of the fabric determines the amount of looping that can occur before the drug begins to lose its shape. The most common uses for loop pile backing are in commercial settings such as office carpeting, which require minimal maintenance and provide a professional look, and in residential carpeting, which offer a cleaner, more uniform appearance.
